Julia Duwe studied communication studies, business administration and American studies at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and the University of Bergen in Norway.
As an author, she deals with the question of how companies can improve their existing core business and, at the same time, successfully enter new digital business fields in the platform economy.
From 2013 to 2016 she completed her doctorate at the European Business School (EBS) in Oestrich-Winkel on the role of management communication in ambidextrous technology companies.
Julia Duwe was Head of Future Motion Solutions Management in the Pneumatic Automation business unit at Festo in Esslingen, where she managed for product launch of digital pneumatics in industrial automation.
From 2018 to 2021 she was Head of R&D Production Platforms and Chief Agile Manager at TRUMPF Machine Tools with responsibility for the development of digital manufacturing solutions.
In 2019, she joined the „Vordenker“ community of Handelsblatt and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in the field of „Digital and Analytics“.
Since June 2020 she is a member of the University Council of Technische Universität Dresden (TUD).
From 2021 to 2022 Julia Duwe was Head of Global Architecture and Ecosystem Architect at TRUMPF Machine Tools where she focussed on establishing a modular, open smart factory architecture for sheet metal manufacturing.
Since March 2022 Julia Duwe is a partner at Roland Berger with a focus in operations, digital transformation, design of R+D ecosystems and agile R+D.
